1Samuel 14
1 하루는 사울의 아들 요나단이 자기 병기를 든 소년에게 이르되 우리가 건너편 블레셋 사람의 부대에게로 건너가자 하고 그 아비에게는 고하지 아니하였더라
1 Now it fell on a day, that Jonathan the son of Saul said to the young man who bore his armor, "Come, and let us go over to the Philistines' garrison, that is on the other side." But he did not tell his father.
2 사울이 기브아 변경 미그론에 있는 석류나무 아래 머물렀고 함께한 백성은 육백 명 가량이며
2 Saul stayed in the uttermost part of Gibeah under the pomegranate tree which is in Migron: and the people who were with him were about six hundred men;
3 아히야는 에봇을 입고 거기 있었으니 그는 이가봇의 형제 아히둡의 아들이요 비느하스의 손자요 실로에서 여호와의 제사장이 되었던 엘리의 증손이었더라 백성은 요나단의 간 줄을 알지 못하니라
3 and Ahijah, the son of Ahitub, Ichabod's brother, the son of Phinehas, the son of Eli, the priest of the LORD in Shiloh, wearing an ephod. The people did not know that Jonathan was gone.
4 요나단이 블레셋 사람의 부대에게로 건너가려 하는 어귀 사이 이편에도 험한 바위가 있고 저편에도 험한 바위가 있는데 하나의 이름은 보세스요 하나의 이름은 세네라
4 Between the passes, by which Jonathan sought to go over to the Philistines' garrison, there was a rocky crag on the one side, and a rocky crag on the other side: and the name of the one was Bozez, and the name of the other Seneh.
5 한 바위는 북에서 믹마스 앞에 일어섰고 하나는 남에서 게바 앞에 일어섰더라
5 The one crag rose up on the north in front of Michmash, and the other on the south in front of Geba.
6 요나단이 자기 병기 든 소년에게 이르되 우리가 이 할례 없는 자들의 부대에게로 건너가자 여호와께서 우리를 위하여 일하실까 하노라 여호와의 구원은 사람의 많고 적음에 달리지 아니하였느니라
6 Jonathan said to the young man who bore his armor, "Come, and let us go over to the garrison of these uncircumcised. It may be that the LORD will work for us; for there is no restraint on the LORD to save by many or by few."
7 병기 든 자가 그에게 이르되 당신의 마음에 있는 대로 다 행하여 앞서 가소서 내가 당신과 마음을 같이하여 따르리이다
7 His armor bearer said to him, "Do all that your heart inclines toward. Look, I am with you, my heart is as your heart."
8 요나단이 가로되 보라 우리가 그 사람들에게로 건너가서 그들에게 보이리니
8 Then Jonathan said, "Look, we will pass over to the men, and we will reveal ourselves to them.
9 그들이 만일 이같이 우리에게 이르기를 우리가 너희에게로 가기를 기다리라 하면 우리는 우리 곳에 가만히 서서 그들에게로 올라가지 말 것이요
9 If they say thus to us, 'Wait until we come to you.' then we will stand still in our place, and will not go up to them.
10 그들이 만일 이같이 말하기를 우리에게로 올라오라 하면 우리가 올라갈 것은 여호와께서 그들을 우리 손에 붙이셨음이니 이것이 우리에게 표징이 되리라 하고
10 But if they say this, 'Come up to us.' then we will go up; for the LORD has delivered them into our hand. This shall be the sign to us."
11 둘이 다 블레셋 사람의 부대에게 보이매 블레셋 사람이 가로되 보라 히브리 사람이 그 숨었던 구멍에서 나온다 하고
11 Both of them revealed themselves to the garrison of the Philistines: and the Philistines said, "Look, the Hebrews are coming out of the holes where they had hidden themselves."
12 그 부대 사람들이 요나단과 그 병기 든 자를 대하여 가로되 우리에게로 올라오라 너희에게 한 일을 보이리라 한지라 요나단이 자기 병기 든 자에게 이르되 나를 따라 올라오라 여호와께서 그들을 이스라엘의 손에 붙이셨느니라 하고
12 The men of the garrison answered Jonathan and his armor bearer, and said, "Come up to us, and we will show you something." Jonathan said to his armor bearer, "Come up after me; for the LORD has delivered them into the hand of Israel."
13 요나단이 손발로 붙잡고 올라갔고 그 병기 든 자도 따랐더라 블레셋 사람들이 요나단 앞에서 엎드러지매 병기 든 자가 따라가며 죽였으니
13 Jonathan climbed up on his hands and on his feet, and his armor bearer after him. And they fell before Jonathan; and his armor bearer killed them after him.
14 요나단과 그 병기 든 자가 반일경 지단 안에서 처음으로 도륙한 자가 이십 인 가량이라
14 That first slaughter, which Jonathan and his armor bearer made, was about twenty men, within as it were half a furrow's length in an acre of land.
15 들에 있는 진과 모든 백성 중에 떨림이 일어났고 부대와 노략꾼들도 떨었으며 땅도 진동하였으니 이는 큰 떨림이었더라
15 And there was a terror in the camp, in the field, and among all the people. The garrison and even the raiders were terrified. And the earth quaked, and it became a terror of God.
16 베냐민 기브아에 있는 사울의 파수꾼이 바라본즉 허다한 블레셋 사람이 무너져 이리저리 흩어지더라
16 And the watchmen of Saul in Gibeah of Benjamin saw, and look, the multitude was scattering here and there.
17 사울이 자기와 함께 한 백성에게 이르되 우리에게서 누가 나갔는지 점고하여 보라 하고 점고한즉 요나단과 그의 병기 든 자가 없어졌더라
17 Then Saul said to the people who were with him, "Count now, and see who is missing from us." When they had counted, look, Jonathan and his armor bearer were not there.
18 사울이 아히야에게 이르되 하나님의 궤를 이리로 가져오라 하니 그 때에 하나님의 궤가 이스라엘 자손과 함께 있음이라
18 And Saul said to Ahijah, "Bring near the ephod," for he wore the ephod at that time before Israel.
19 사울이 제사장에게 말할 때에 블레셋 사람의 진에 소동이 점점 더한지라 사울이 제사장에게 이르되 네 손을 거두라 하고
19 And it happened, while Saul was speaking to the priest, that the tumult that was in the camp of the Philistines went on and increased: and Saul said to the priest, "Withdraw your hand."
20 사울과 그와 함께한 모든 백성이 모여 전장에 가서 본즉 블레셋 사람이 각각 칼로 그 동무를 치므로 크게 혼란하였더라
20 Saul and all the people who were with him were gathered together, and came to the battle: and look, every man's sword was against his fellow: a very great confusion.
21 전에 블레셋 사람과 함께 하던 히브리 사람이 사방에서 블레셋 사람과 함께 와서 진에 들어왔더니 그들이 돌이켜 사울과 요나단과 함께한 이스라엘 사람과 합하였고
21 Now the Hebrews who were with the Philistines as before, and who went up with them into the camp, they too turned to be with the Israelites who were with Saul and Jonathan.
22 에브라임 산지에 숨었던 이스라엘 모든 사람도 블레셋 사람의 도망함을 듣고 싸우러 나와서 그들을 추격하였더라
22 Likewise all the men of Israel who had hidden themselves in the hill country of Ephraim, when they heard that the Philistines fled, even they also followed closely after them in the battle.
23 여호와께서 그 날에 이스라엘을 구원하시므로 전쟁이 벧아웬을 지나니라
23 So the LORD saved Israel that day, and the battle passed over by Beth Aven. And all the people with Saul were about ten thousand men. And the battle extended itself into every city in the hill country of Ephraim.
