잠언 27
Proverbs 27
1 너는 내일 일을 자랑하지 말라 하루 동안에 무슨 일이 날는지 네가 알 수 없음이니라
1 Do not boast about tomorrow; for you do not know what a day may bring forth.
2 타인으로 너를 칭찬하게 하고 네 입으로는 말며 외인으로 너를 칭찬하게 하고 네 입술로는 말지니라
2 Let another man praise you, and not your own mouth; a stranger, and not your own lips.
3 돌은 무겁고 모래도 가볍지 아니하거니와 미련한 자의 분노는 이 둘보다 무거우니라
3 A stone is heavy, and sand is a burden; but a fool's provocation is heavier than both.
4 분은 잔인하고 노는 창수 같거니와 투기 앞에야 누가 서리요
4 Wrath is cruel, and anger is overwhelming; but who is able to stand before jealousy?
5 면책은 숨은 사랑보다 나으니라
5 Better is open rebuke than hidden love.
6 친구의 통책은 충성에서 말미암은 것이나 원수의 자주 입맞춤은 거짓에서 난 것이니라
6 Faithful are the wounds of a friend; although the kisses of an enemy are profuse.
7 배부른 자는 꿀이라도 싫어하고 주린 자에게는 쓴 것이라도 다니라
7 A full soul loathes a honeycomb; but to a hungry soul, every bitter thing is sweet.
8 본향을 떠나 유리하는 사람은 보금자리를 떠나 떠도는 새와 같으니라
8 As a bird that wanders from her nest, so is a man who wanders from his home.
9 기름과 향이 사람의 마음을 즐겁게 하나니 친구의 충성된 권고가 이와 같이 아름다우니라
9 Perfume and incense bring joy to the heart; so does earnest counsel from a man's friend.
